Little Indians West Pow Wow
As noted in the Rope Shaft Reader, Jim Pennel almajim@att.net will run a show within a show for the Little Indians. If you are in the Western states and cannot get to the Little Indians Pow Wow in Pigeon Forge, this is another chance. Jim is hoping to get as many of the Western Little Indians or 61 to 63 Tempest owners as possible together at the Pontiac/Oakland Western Convention. AN IMPORNTANT UPDATE!
Hello All You Lucky Boys & Girls!
You still have plenty of time to enter . . . well sorta. Registrations for the 2014 Pontiac/Oakland Western Regional Convention are at the Half Way Mark! That means half the show field is already filled! However, rooms at the inn are getting scarce. The Pines Resort, as of Monday April 14, only has 47 rooms remaining. All the suites are filled (and have been for some time), so the remaining rooms are all chalets. Don't forget!!! You must register for the convention and get your registration number to be able to book a room at The Pines.
By past history we know The Pines will be filled by mid summer. But don't worry, we have arranged for some other “off-site” rooms. That information will be posted on our website well before you need it. Once it's on the website, we'll let you know via this email system.
I've met with our supplier of wearing apparel and we have begun the design process. I think you will like what we're planning. Pre-order forms will be going out in early June (or there a bouts). You will be able to order all the shirts and hats you want then. Pre-ordered wearing will be available for pickup at registration. We will order extra to have for sale during the convention, but there will be no guarantee of size/color/style availability, so plan on pre-ordering so you're sure to get your preferred choices!
While we're talking about pre-orders . . . We will notify you via this email system when the packets are ready and emailed. (Wait a minute . . . we'll “notify” you via email that we're sending you an email??? How does that work?) Oh well, just be warned that in early June or so, we'll be emailing you the packet. When that arrives, be sure to print it out and get it back in soon after! If for some reason, you require your packet to be snail-mailed, please let us know!
The pre-order forms will also include your banquet meal options. The banquet will be a “sit-down” meal served to you. We had the option of doing a buffet style, most people seem to prefer sit-down banquet meals. More on this later.
I'm attaching the convention flyer and registration form again. If you haven't sent yours in yet, do so soon. And please share this with all your Poncho friends, while we still have room for more.

This is the third time Pontiacs of Central California has hosted the Western Regional Convention. We are very pleased that so many of you have compared the quality of our convention to the National Conventions! We put a lot of effort into trying to make it as good as we can, and your compliments assure us we have done our job!
Don't forget; proceeds from this convention will be donated to Honor Flight and Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Central Valley. Check with your accountant to determine your tax benefits. Our two previous convention efforts netted a total donation of $14,000.00 to charity! Yes, we are proud.
